Nashville is a great town.

I am a parent who did my graduate school years in Nashville when my New Jersey raised husband (against my preferences) decided to attend Vanderbilt Law School. We were both raised in the Middle Atlantic states and did undergrad school in the south so it was not exactly a shock to arrive in Nashville, but I often post that Nashville is misunderstood and underappreciated by coastal dwellers.

Nice to see that Kiplingers gave Nashville such a high rating. I think Vanderbilt's Blair School of Music, Peabody School and the Med School, Law School and Div School add a great deal of depth and diversity to an already friendly and vibrant landlocked city in middle America. Everyone in entertainment, arts and on the lecture trail comes through town, so the entertainment and cultural vibes are quite lively.

Those of you considering a Vanderbilt application should go to Nashville and see for yourself what a good economy and an eclectic population can add to a college town. Entertainment plus internship and field placement opps are quite extensive.
