National Forensic League All American

How does this award look? To get 750 forensic points takes serious commitment.

Does anyone know how commonplace this award is?

i would assume its pretty damn good. i got into nfl and then didnt do any more after that. didnt help me out too much. but im sure a special award would be much better

Congrats, it's a great award. It sounds like you should take a look at Bradley University. There isn't any school better in forensics.

I figured out that only 120 kids get this nationally annually, and around 7 people in my home state get it. Is this prestigious or not really unique? How does it look to admissions officers at top colleges?

uhhh...i hate to break it to you, but its not really that prestigeous at all. With NFL constantly raising the ceiling for how many points u can earn, 750 really isnt that big of a deal. As it is, i have 1500+ points and I'm not even done with the season (still have nationals). After sophomore year, i think i already had 750, after jr year i had 1150+. And I'm someone whose focal point on the college application wasn't even debate or public speaking (it was math/science).

I'm not sure which state u live in, but at my school alone, there are at least 7 NFL all-americans. I'm positive there are more than 120 in the entire country.

It doesnt hurt, but I dont think it'll help that much. especially at top colleges.

firebird, you're a BEAST.

um, yes, it is impressive. Not everyone goes to nationals, and most people dont have points above 700. And Bradley for debate? Are you joking? Harvard, Dartmouth, Umichigan, macalester, and usc are all great debate schools, but bradley?

You're confused between debate and forensics. Forensics is speech competitions such as limited prep, public address, interpretation, etc.. Since 1980, Bradley has won over 100 individual forensics championships (I think it's 115 now), more than any other school. They have won 20 American Forensics Association team titles and 13 National Forensic Association team titles in the open class as well. The 13 NFA titles came in the same years as AFA titles and no other school has even had a sweep Even the Celtics can't claim a dynasty like that.

According to this site, a bit over a hundred kids get this award annually. I was just wondering if colleges think being in the top 130 or so in committment is good.
