National History Day 2012 Help

<p>Hey everyone,</p>

<p>I'm interested in doing NHD this year (2012) for the first time, it looks interesting to me since I love history. There isn't a club for it at our school nor there is anyone else doing it (our school is very small). I am thinking about making a website for it.</p>

<p>So I really need some help and advices on topic choosing, researching and the competition in general... how competitive is it and how much work will I need to do?</p>

<p>Yeah, I don’t know where to start and any tips to succeed… I have a few topics in mind though, but they might be too broad/ too common</p>

<p>At my school, History day’s a really big deal. We’ve had a lot of kids go to Nationals. My brother’s doing it this year. Pretty much you wanted to get started now if you haven’t already started. My brother’s already researching primary sources for his project, and reading a few books on it. If you haven’t already picked a topic, then you really want to pick one ASAP.</p>
