Are there any other competitions similar to NHD in which one would write a (research) paper on a historical topic?

I would look into your local Daughters of the American Revolution chapter. They are a little more strict when it comes to specific topics, but there tends to be little to no competition depending on where you live. I’ve found it to be more creative than the NHD competitions, which is also a plus. They offer smaller scholarships and prizes (depending on your chapter), so it’s definitely something to look into.
Do they have research paper competitions because all I see are essays.
