I have been selected as a member of the National Honor Society. Is it going to help my college admission?

It can't hurt, so join it. But it's not gonna help much, it's pretty standard.

Cherry---congrats! It really is an honor to be selected, and one you should be proud of. Most of the applicants to the selective universities have all the credentials to be (and probably are) members of their local NHS, so it won't set you apart much, but hopefully you're not doing everything in high school -- your ECs, community service, classes--entirely on how they will look on your college admissions. Focus on doing what you enjoy, and be proud of your accomplishments.

It's pretty standard; people would notice it missing from your resume.

Some colleges also have small scholarships for members. Not a huge amount, but for some of us every little bit helps.
