national letter of intent

i have been debating between signing or just coming on as a walk on to a school
what are the advantages or disadvantages of coming as a walk on vs. full out recruit
also does money usually increase or decrease as time in the program goes on
do coaches typically know of admittance before they make an offer to an athletehow do student athelte especially freshman year find their social life and academic life
also, what are the study halls and athletic advisors likee

I am sorry as to the way this post was formatted. On my computer the formatting appears different than it does on here.
what are the advantages and disadvantages of coming as a walk on vs full out recruit to a sports program? also does scholarship money usually increase or decrease as time goes on? how is freshman year as a student athlete? how do the students find the study halls, athletic advisors, etc?

Why would you not sign the national letter of intent? Why would you walk-on if they are offering you money? You will probably snub them if you reject their offer then try to walk on, you might be cut? On the other hand if you are not 110% committed to the team you need to rethink if you want to go down that path at all, it is a very big commitment to play a sport at that level, and they own you if they are paying you to be there. Most of your questions should be answered on your visit with the other members of the team. Did you have an official visit?

a couple reasons i have heard not to sign a letter of intent is there is much more added pressure to preforming at very high expectations as a signee (sometimes extra practices, lifting sessions, yoga, etc) you are epxected to preform near the top of the freshman group that is coming in. in addition, for the freshamn recruits the money is not that much. they do not have as much funding as other schools have.
in terms of study hall, athletic advisor, etc. i wanted to get an opinion on a forum rather than talking to the athletes on the team who try to convince you of their own athletic program and tell you how much they loved it. that is why i asked these questions. have you signed a letter of intent
