Hi guys,
My name is Tony and I am just using BB’s account to post my stats since I really dont feel like opening one…I am a junior btw

Anyway, I am not smart at all, now that is out of the way…here are my stats…

1800 SAT, 1180 math and verbal…my parents is making me get tutoring so i suppose the score will go up…not by a lot though…

GPA- 3.0 UW and 3.5 W, rank okayish around the top 40%, but its like a pretty competitive school.

However, I am better on the field…

I am All-state Lacrosse, 4th fastest shot in the country.
Pre-season All-American, so lacrosse for three years now
I was All-conference freshmen year, All-state last year, and I am pre-season all-american this year. I think I should be able to make the All-American team this year unless I get injured but we will see…
I broke the conferenece record for most goals/assists in a season.
State-Champs last year and conference champ the year before.

I also play soccer, midfield, although I am not nearly as good in soccer as in LAx.
I am All-conference for the past two years.
I play varsity for the school for the last two and play for the youth club off-season, we are one of the top in the country. (top 5?, I have to check on that)

So I want to be able to attend one of the following schools, (in order of perference)

Hopkins

UNC

Havard

Princeton

Case Western

any other suggestions would be nice…

Maybe, although ivy league recruits usually have a good gpa and high test scores along with national achievements in their sport, so just get that sat up!

Academically, all the schools you list are way above your head. Not only would you have difficulty getting into any of them, if you did get in, you'd have a hell of a time keeping up with the school work. Wouldn't exactly be a pleasant college experience.

You would be much smarter, I think, to consider schools that have good lacrosse teams and are academically on your level. Here's a list below. You should be able to get into any one of these schools, and, better, if you let the lacrosse coaches know you're interested, they'd almost certainly recruit you.

U of Maryland
U Mass
Syracuse
Hofstra
U of Delaware
U of Denver
Hobart
Towson
Fairfield University
Penn State

each ivy league school has like 2 or 3 spots on large sports teams such as football and lacrosse for kids that are below their sat/gpa cut off point.

so if youre heavily recruited by them...you could get into an ivy.

hopkins isnt in the ivy league so they can accept you if the coach likes you enough.

Go to the homepage for CC and check your AI. Come back here and post it when you have it.

Also, sometimes you might have to take the initiative and contact coaches. Go to schools websites and find the email addresses of lacrosse coaches. Tell them what you can do, both academically and in lacrosse.

I don't agree that those schools are academically beyond you. Harvard, Princeton, Hopkins will probably be a bit of stretch for you unless you devote considerably more time to studying. I don't see any reason why you won't be able to manage at UNC or Case Western if you're really determined and recognize that college is significantly more difficult than high school. With that said, I do think that amptron's suggestions are very good. I think they'd probably be good fits for you, but if you're really set on the schools on your list, I don't think it's entirely hopeless.

I wouldn't go to Case Western if you're interested in the sports. Looking at your Lax stats, Case wouldn't be nearly competitive enough for you.
