So, I'm getting nervous about these cutoffs. TX last 2 years has been 217 and I scored a 216 this year, hoping that the cutoff will drop since the writing curve changed. Anyone else nervous about this?

bump......

how do you figure out your state's cut off?

Fun, at this point there is no way of knowing. You can just run a search for cut-offs in your state for previous years, and know that it will be somewhere within several points of that number. It is safe to assume that most states will drop slightly this year because of the new writing curve.

Does anyone know the cutoff for commended for the 2006 test?

The students were notified a couple of months ago.

216 for me

I got a 136 sophomore year :(

hopefully my tutoring will help

What's the cutoff for commended for 2005?

For the October 2005 test date? It was 203.

My daughter's school never received anything, but apparently she is considered home schooled by the NM board. Person on the phone said official letters not until mid-Sept.

Well, students already received official (from the CB) letters, but they did not say where the student was in the competition, just that he was in.

Yeah the letters that came in April/May was for everyone who scored >=200 (commended). I'm hoping that since commended (which is a national average) dropped 3 points, the state cutoffs will drop as well.
