Anyone know of a national merit finalist being rejected from UF? Do you think being a NMF would pretty much guarantee admission?
IF UF is your students first choice, there might be a $500 NMF scholarship-

Its seems plausible if GPA is too low, that a NMF could be rejected by U of Florida, but I don’t know any case of that. May depend on the major as well.
Thanks! Really liking the sound of the Benacquisto!
@flprepaidmom whoops! Just found this. Great minds…
Hi, just my opinion but I would think that if admission was guaranteed by being a NMF then UF would state that directly on the admissions page. You could probably look back on past decision posts to see if NMF were rejected. I would say they have a high probability of acceptance but on the other hand if UF felt like they were not first choice and the student would choose another top school, UF might choose to deny.
Our school had a NMF rejected last year. The student’s GPA was 4.7+ and SAT was 1530. Student filed an appeal and the appeal was granted. This was the first appeal ever given to a student at our school. It happens, but this time it was a mistake on UF’s end. Mistakes also happen.
