I'm a National Merit Finalist with Johns Hopkins currently as my first choice. However, lately I've really been considering the University of Chicago (as a possible 1st choice). Does anyone know the # of National Merit scholarships either of these gives out (or how hard it is to get one)?

I know that Hopkins offers renewable scholarships of $500-$2000 for National Merit Finalists. I'm not sure how many they have available.

Chicago also sponsors a number of National Merit and National Achievement Scholarships. If you are a finalist in either of these competitions, simply report to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation that the University of Chicago is your first choice school. The address of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation is 1560 Sherman Avenue, Suite 200, Evanston, Illinois, 60201. The phone number there is 847-866-5100.
