<p>To be eligible for the National Merit Scholarship Program, do you have to have a new SAT I score, or can you send in an new ACT score?</p>

<p>I don;t think you need to take the SAT, it is based only on your PSAT scores. Here is a link to their website, and it says nothing about SAT I scores.

<p>i think to become semi-finalist you have to have sat scores that matchish your psat score (so it's not a fluke)</p>

<p>my question is what if you don't match nov-june and you do in october after semi-finalists have already been notified? are you just screwed then?</p>

<p>It looks like they wanted you to take an SAT I by Dec 05.</p>

<p>that page is way old... they don't want you to take an SAT by dec 05, but december 06</p>
