<p>I was accepted to American and was given the Presidential scholarship. But, not to sound greedy or anything, I was wondering whether American also gives out any national merit money to students who matriculate.

<p>I emailed them w/ same question (including the "not to sound greedy or anything"), since my S is in the same boat. They said they do give out Nat Merit money. They get a list from NM Corp in April of those students who name AU as their first choice. They said NM is not included in the Presidential Scholarship and getting a Presidential Scholarship "does not hinder" a student from receiving an NM scholarship. I did get the impression that there was no guarantee that if you named AU as your top choice, you automatically got their college sponsored NM scholarship though. Sounds like they look at the list and make their decision. Hope this helps</p>
