National Merit Scholarship for Northeastern and Employer?

Hey guys,
so my mom works for a corporate sponsor, and Northeastern is a college sponsor of the National Merit Scholarship, so does this mean that I can get both, or could I only get one or the other, and would I be able to choose which one (because Northeastern offers 30k, which is much more than the 2k for the corporate sponsorship). My first choice college is UPenn, but might as well use the national merit scholarship where I might get some money.
Thanks guys,

You can get both. My DD took a substantial university scholarship and was also awarded a small corporate scholarship. She did have to sign that the corporate scholarship would be used for nontaxable purposes ie. tuition, fees or books, and not room and board. The scholarship is paying for her books.

If you are NMF and receive the $30,000 merit scholarship AND a Northeastern need based grant in addition to the $30,000 then the corporate scholarship may reduce the need based grant.
