If I understand correctly, it seems that in the past UCF offered full tuition scholarships to OOS National Merit Finalists. But the UCF scholarship page is very vague about the scholarship amount offered to OOS students. I wondered if anyone OOS had received a scholarship based on NMF status and, if so, you could provide details? Thanks

Here is where you will find this information. It is not just tuition, but a great package.

They will waive the application fee if you ask. Admission was quick and hassle free.

Add: click on the National Merit Newsletter

Thanks, NaperMom! I didn’t notice the National Merit Newsletter link and that’s the key to all the info I was looking for. It really does look like a great package. If you–or anyone else-- know anyone who has experience at UCF as a National Merit Scholar I would love to hear about their experience. Thanks

My daughter started at UCF and is having an amazing experience. She loves her classes (especially her Honors classes). The Honors Towers is much nicer than anything I could have fathomed when I was in college too. Their Finalist scholarships are outstanding and cover her tuition and housing. She can use the money for housing to even live off campus (which she might do next year) and her housing is covered for four years and not just her freshman year. She even gets some money back each semester from the award to buy groceries instead of a meal plan. Of course, the new MacBook Pro she got to pick out didn’t hurt either. Check them out!

Putterer, if you are a senior, make sure that you contact Luke right away. If you are a junior anticipating becoming a NMSF, get on their mailing list by requesting more information. The recent brochure that we received about housing makes it look like a themed Orlando hotel - just beautiful! Also, you can link to 2 students, I believe, on that page, who were NMFs. They can answer questions for you.

SmartKidParent, Great to hear about your daughter’s positive experience. What is her major?
My DS is currently thinking of a double finances and math major. The USC NMF package does sound incredible.

NaperMom, my DS is only a junior, but his PSAT score is such that we anticipate NMF status. We will get on the mailing list. Thanks for the tip.

Putterer: She’s pursuing Biomedical Sciences and wants to go to Med School. If your student is only a junior, you can definitely look into UCF now and then get going with the app when your son becomes a senior.
