Does Cornell offer national merit scholarships? if so, how much do they give?

I would like to know this too!

Would also like to know about this!

No. The Ivy League does not offer merit based awards.

Ah, well…

I’m still waiting on my Financial Aid package and I hope it’s generous =/

@countryangel
me too

Yea, even Rice only offers $1K per year for NM Finalists…

I remember my school admin made NM out to be some huge scholarship deal back in junior year.

Turns out, the top schools really don’t seem to care a whole lot, and certainly don’t give you much money for it. They’d probably rather you did better on the SAT or ACT than the PSAT.

USC has a pretty good deal for NMF’s. If you list USC as your #1 choice, you are automatically eligible for their Presidential scholarship which pays half tuition for four years.

I think it definitely depends on the school. As an NMF, Northeastern offered me full tuition for the honors program, while Vanderbilt only offered me $750 a year (plus other scholarships). But yeah, the top schools don’t seem to care much…

UF offers ~$5000 a yrear + Acceptance to Honors program… But Cornell>>>>>>UF, so…no.

U Rochester gives a whole lot as well, similar to USC.
