In Arizona, we had a University of Arizona representative come talk to interested students. The representative asked my guidance counselor if we had any Semi-Finalists. The GC whispered that we have 1, and then she looked at me. In December 2010, when we got our scores, she talked to me saying that I was the highest score in the school and all that stuff. So I’m guessing it’s me (215) but I haven’t been called to her office yet.

Word is, Idaho is 211.

REALLY??? I got 210 for Idaho… Are you sure?

Wheathead, Colorado here. My senior got notice today of semifinalist status with a score of 223. Hope you get good news soon too.

^^That’s what I heard from a kid who was notified but cannot confirm positivity.

thanks for the update, COlooking. does your kid know of anybody else who made semifinalist with a lower score?

any news from Oregon yet? I had a bad testing day and was only 3 points above last years cut off.

Wheathead, sorry, no, the group of qualifiers at our high school didn’t talk scores with each other, surprisingly.

My daughter’s was higher, but the cutoff is 220 and up.
There were 2 asterisks next to the 220 on the master list of all CT scores which I believe means 220 and above are NMSF. Also confirmed by GC.

ivyhopeful94, we’re in the same boat, 3 points above last years. COLooking, it’s alright, thanks anyway.

Oops sorry Wheathead, I replied to your question, but now I see you were actually asking “COlooking”, I’m “collooker”… how weird is that?

collooker, it’s alright. were you referring to the connecticut cutoff in your last post, because it seemed as if you were talking about colorado?

I knew I 100% passed the cutoff line when I saw my score :)

Yes Connecticut (CT)… sorry for the confusion.

I’ll post ID, but would prefer to get more direct information.

PLEASE DON’T FREAK OUT! Check the explanation of the notation in the first post. When you see, for instance, AZ <= 219, that means that Arizona’s cutoff is no higher than 219. This comes from a report like, “I live in Arizona, made a 219, and got my letter.” When you see, for instance, TX > 216, that means that Texas’ cutoff is higher than 216. This comes from a report like, “I live in Texas, made a 216, and didn’t make it.”
