I have 24 A’s 2 B’s and 1 C. I am a national merit semifinalist. I have good Ec’s, leadership and volunteering. Will my grades prevent me from becomming a finalist? If so, why. Are there any people with identical grades to me that didn’t get it?
You’re probably good, but you won’t know for sure until January when the rejection letters go out or February when the finalist comes out. Good luck.
Hello, thanks for replying. Just out of curiosity, what makes you think I’m good? Have there been students with similar grades that have gotten it? Thanks.
You’ll be fine. Nearly 95% of semifinalists reach the finalist stage, and it takes a lot more than getting a single C to get weeded out. Stuff along the lines of getting suspended from school, getting lots of mediocre grades, etc.
I agree with TigerinWinter. 95% is probably right. 2 and a half months and you’ll know.
