I’m thinking of applying to YoungArts, and I was wondering if anyone knows any good audition material. It would be for the Theater discipline, with 2 monologues (one classical (before 1910), and one contemporary (after 1910)), and one song from a book musical. I’m aiming for 2 monologues that contrast with comedy and drama, in order to show my range, and I was wondering if anyone has any advice on monologues and songs, and specifically, if monologues from books, television/movies, or plays, etc work better for material. Any advice in general that they’ve found works well with the judges into getting to be a finalist. If anyone has attended YoungArts in the past, I’d love to hear about your experience as well. Thank you!
