Native American advantage?

<p>Hey! I'm 8% Cherokee (without a tribal number). While I don't have a tribal number, I am very involved in my local tribe, attending local pow wows and such.</p>

<p>Anyway, my question is how, and to what extent, this will affect my college admissions? Ignoring my academics, which are great, how will it affect acceptance into Harvard/Dartmouth?</p>

<p>Any other relevant tips are appreciated! :-)</p>

<p>Being a Native American is usually an excellent hook, often providing a tipping value if you are otherwise academically qualified. :)</p>

<p>If you put down that you are Native American, it will increase your chances a great deal.</p>

<p>Supposedly you need to have some kind of record of your status. And, you have to be at least 1/8 (about 12%)</p>
