I am 1/8th native american. Legally this is enough to say that I am native american. I was recruited by Harvard, Dartmouth, Cornell and Columbia and I am applying to Harvard, Dartmouth, Cornell, Yale, and Tufts.
The tribal newspaper has always come to our house, my family members and I are all enrolled, my grandpa and dad grew up just barely off the reservation... is 1/8 still just making up my native american-ness?
Is my being native american (and only being 1/8) going to be enough to get me in to one of those schools with a 3.8 GPA and 1860 SAT score? I also do lots of community service and I have a job.
I never considered "using" being native american for college, but I figured I'd accept the invitations. They must have found me through my tribal enrollment.

I am part Native American but didn’t state so on my application.
