Native American Heritage Month: Colleges That Offer Tuition Waivers and Scholarships for Native American Students

We close out this year’s Native American Heritage Month with a state-by-state list of colleges and universities that offer tuition waivers and scholarships for Native American students.

There are no current school or state-specific tuition waivers or scholarships for Native American students in Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia.

Note that University of Minnesota - Morris has an American Indian Tuition Waiver that has been around for a while, and has a somewhat wider eligibility than the University of Minnesota system Native American Promise Tuition Program.

The NAPTP has eligibility for those “who are enrolled citizens in one of Minnesota’s 11 federally recognized Tribal Nations”, while the Morris AITW has eligibility for “an enrolled member of a federally recognized American Indian tribe, Alaskan Native Village, or Canadian First Nation” or a descendant of such an enrolled member.
