Naval Academy- What are my chances?

AnthonyR27, where do you stand now with your Test ACT or SAT.

If nothing has changed, I think you have a chance with USNA and USMA coming from your NY18. Your stats are subjective to your competition and your district is not the most competitive district in NY so I would not sweat too much. NY03 is the most competitive in NY and one of the most competitive in the country. So candidates in this district need much higher stats and threshold to compete. Just do well in your Senior Fall and do well in your STEM classes. USNA only looks at Math and English on your ACT. So bring them up. Navy will equalize your ACT E and M to SAT and ACT is more difficult so you will end up with higher SAT Composite. However, USMA looks all sections and desires 30+ on all sections. Your ECs are all good. You should qualify for 15 Eagle Palms since you did 100 MBs. Talk to your SM and your Adv Chair to approve your 100MBs to 15 Palms. This will speak volume when you write them up in your Academy Essays.

Make sure you get the best CFA you can put in. CFA is scored to 100% within 10% allocation. take your score and compare to max scores on each event. You’ll get the general idea. Some events weigh more like run time, push ups, sit ups. But must pass all events. Run time is most important. Must run under 8 mins. Then you pass the Mile run. They like to see the run time under 7 mins however. But no sweat if not.

Tae Kwon Do counts as full Varsity Letter if you have Black Belt and have Dan’s earned from Kukkiwon which is even better. Confirmed this with the RC. In fact he suggested to put in Martial Arts if you have Black Belt. If not it doesn’t count as Varsity but maybe judged as JV.

@oldpilot1972 @Patriot4Life @coolcoolcoolios @Sportsman88 Thank you guys for all your help along this process. It’s been an incredibly new experience for me and there are not many people around me who are going through this process that can really give you assistance. Because of your help I thought that you all might want to know that I just received my Congressional Nomination to USNA so thank you all again for all your help.

@AnthonyR27 - Congrats on the nomination! Best of luck.
