Does anyone know how many years back the Naviance Scattergrams go? I’m trying to figure out if certain people were athletes, but I wasn’t sure if they only went back 3 years like other data areas do.
Thanks!

For our high school I believe it is 3 years. I imagine it varies.
You have to ask your GC. The high school can put in as many years of data as they want to. And you are correct that thinking outliers might have some hook that you don’t – athlete, URM, legacy, or some super duper amazing EC accomplishment. Also, the data is only as good as student reporting to the GC and their data entry process, which definitely can have gaps or flaws.
It depends on how your school sets it up. There is no universal answer.
Smaller schools often go back further to provide a bigger data set and student anonymity. Of course, if a school has had a popularity boom in that time, this can be misleading.
At my son’s school it was 5 years. It’s far enough back to present some misleading information, since selective colleges have become more difficult to be admitted to in recent years.
