Naviance - Yes or No?

I understand that under the terms of the FERPA, after I matriculate I will have access to this form and all other recommendations and supporting documents submitted by me and on my behalf, unless at least one of the following is true:

I waive my right to access below, regardless of the institution to which it is sent:
--- Yes, I do waive my right to access, and I understand I will never see this form or any other recommendations submitted by me or on my behalf.
---No, I do not waive my right to access, and I may someday choose to see this form or any other recommendations or supporting documents submitted by me or on my behalf to the institution at which I'm enrolling, if that institution saves them after I matriculate.

I don't know which one to fill out, Yes or No?, and if it matters which one I choose?

Pleeease? Help?

My school counselors today said to definitely waive your rights.

If a teacher doesn’t want to write a rec, they’ll tell you.

choose yes

The general wisdom seems to be to waive your rights. It looks better, and why would you want to see what they wrote anyway? It would be too late to matter.

Unless you are in a situation where you don’t trust someone who is writing you a rec (a very bad situation, ideally you should never do this). Waiving your right is the better part of wisdom, teachers feel like they can be more truthful and honest and college can tell you trust them.

Can you waive your rights after you have already decided to not waive them? Because no one told me to waive them??

Amills, there should be a way to go in and change your response. Ask your GC if you cannot figure it out by looking around. I never thought Naviance was all that user friendly.
