You know what’s odd? I never here someone bring up NBA without some bashing or over praising of the Lakers.

I never liked basketball, and I’m not that bad at it either lol

@lucky2010 The Lakers are the cash cow of the NBA, simply because of the polarity it presents to the NBA fanbase as a whole.

people just use that as a way to justify their pointless arguments over the lakers.

get the panties out of a bunch, I’m pretty much indifferent to the lakers.

Hey, without rivalries between teams and fans, sports leagues won’t survive for long. As much as I despise certain teams and their fans, I’ll admit that the animosity is what feeds the league with revenue.

heh i was using the girl in my class as an “example” ever heard of it ? and please, a lot of idiot laker fans share that senitiment so don’t bother. You are brining up other teams to justify the fact that 98% of laker fans are bandwagon fans but I am not talking about other teams. I don’t live in boston so they don’t annoy me.

Phil Jackson “retired” when Jordan did and rejected multiple job offers claiming he was “retired” (and was never to coach again) only to come back in a year for the laker job. Left again, when shaq left only to come back a year later.

oh and this one is funny
“Clipper fans are nowhere to be found after their choke job against the Suns in 07.”

The clippers made the playoffs for the first time in what, 15 years ? that itself was an accomplishment, sorry that the clippers didn’t win the championship I know you laker fans only like winning teams. and actually kobe bryant had a VERBAL AGREEMENT with Elgin Baylor to sign with the clippers, but I suppose lakers don’t commit to their word. Which is why the clippers end up signing cat mobley instead.

i know more about the lakers than you apparently.

Yeah, but one sample does not correspond to the whole population, you should know that.

Good use of a percentage you completely made up.

So you’re just singling out the Lakers and its fans…way to be consistent with your argument.

The point is Clipper fans are back in hiding after the team has returned to completely mediocrity. Way to change the topic of discussion.

Kobe never had a verbal agreement with the Clippers. He met with them, yes (also with other teams), but he never had any kind of agreement with Elgin Baylor. And no contract is guaranteed until both parties sign the agreement, so I don’t see any validity in your attacks.

Because of your fabricated stories and made-up stats? Yeah buddy, keep dreaming.

lol you are just another homer. I’m not going to wate my time arguing with someone that ignores legitimate arguements and negs facts that actually happened. good job though, you defend your team like sasha does. oh and yeah the % is actually higher, i was being conservative.

Show me a link that says Kobe had a verbal agreement with Elgin Baylor. Exactly there isn’t any.

First you accuse me of being a homer, and now you say I “defend” my team “like sasha does”. Ironic much?

O.K. whatever you say it is.

I’m happy to defend my views and listen to the other side, but please, don’t just invent numbers and events out of nowhere. Let’s stick to facts, mmkay?

2-2 Lakers and Oklahoma

I was disappointed by the effort tonight. They just stood there watching the Thunder was chasing down loose balls and running all over the place.

IDK, Kobe being passive, Lakers missing free throws…something weird is going on.

I kinda feel like this is how it’s been for the Lakers all season, which is unfortunate. They’re such a deep and talented team but unfortunately were not able to manifest this talent and do great things with it like last season.

^ cough Ron Artest cough

…worst thing that ever happened to the Lakers.

Ron Artest stalls the offense because he doesn’t react quickly which causes the defense to be able to adjust. He hasn’t been helping much, and he was supposed to be the “Durant stopper”. I think the Lakers are better with Gasol, Odom, Bryant, Brown, and Farmar on the floor because they are more versatile by being big with Gasol and Odom, while also able to keep up with the Thunder at the same time.

Artest has locked down Durant, but he’s cancelled out a lot of it with his offense. He’s basically been a black-hole his entire career, and has shot in the low 40s anyway. It was silly to think he could be a catch-and-shoot player.

The Lakers are running into the same wall they did last season against Houston. We’ll win this series.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not worried about this series, I’m worried about our next opponents, whether it be Utah, or Denver, or Dallas. If we’re barely beating OKC, then how will we fare against those teams?

And Durant might be shooting a lower FG%, but he’s still getting his points, and I hardly call that lockdown. Moreover, Artest is too slow to keep up with him, which causes our defense to collapse, which in turn causes guys like Harden, Krstic, and Jeff Green to be scoring bunches from the outside.

Yeah, Artest has done his best to “lockdown” Durant, but KD has just been too much for him to handle. Sure, he got his way with him in the first 2 games, but OKC has come on very strong. Honestly, I think that the best that the Thunder can do is push this to a Game 7, so Lakers will surely win the series. Perhaps just a bad matchup this series? Idk, but the Lakers need to seriously up their game if they want to get back to the Finals. Kobe and Gasol have been only people really doing well consistently, and even then, Kobe takes way too many ill-advised shots, and Pau shows how soft he is.

Dallas is struggling against the Spurs, Butler is really stinking it up, and Manu willed the Spurs to a win last game. Busted up nose, and then still goes back out on the floor. I’m not a Spurs fan, but that was champion material.

I’m liking San Antonio’s chances especially if they win game 4 tonight. Brandon Roy is back too, but I don’t know how effective he is (didn’t watch the last game). I heard he made a couple of big shots though. He’s definitely a morale booster at worst.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not worried about this series, I’m worried about our next opponents, whether it be Utah, or Denver, or Dallas. If we’re barely beating OKC, then how will we fare against those teams?

agreed, its 2-2 now

Why would anyone give a ■■■ when you can watch the NHL playoffs???
