same here in NC, no issues getting gas
Iām in the Triangle and as of 5am Tuesday gas is not readily available here. Itās better than it was last week, but I would say approximately 7/10 gas stations still have bags over the pumps. And it seems that as soon as a station is restocked with gas, it is out of gas less than 24 hours later.
Itās like a game of whack-a-mole. The stations that had gas yesterday donāt have gas today. The stations that have gas today wonāt have gas tomorrow. If a friend says Station X has gas, you should go as soon as you hear the news, because if you wait youāll be out of luck.
I think it will be better by this weekend.
Yeah, in TX most of the problem came from their Natural Gas supply (or lack thereof due to the storm). The solar and wind was a low percentage, and that was due to their not weatherizing it. Iām watching windmills turn in Canada as we speak. No problem there with wind power in winter - even with storms.
Oldest son came here (weāre in NY now) from NC/VA this past Saturday. They had trouble finding gas in VA, but had already gassed up as soon as they heard the news in NC. Iām glad it should be fixed before they return in June. We were worried that they might not be able to make it.
Itās a bummer that Colonial Pipeline had to pay the ransom though. Who knows what targets are planned next. Letās hope some CS grads on the āgood sideā can figure out how to break their system.
Iām in Chapel Hill. Most stations here are out. I think alot of it has to do w/ it being graduation weekend. Lots of out of towners and kids moving out. There was one station next to our dog groomers that had a long line at noon. By the time we went back to get our puppy at 3:00, they were out.
My DH is up in Ohio picking up our 20 yr old for the summer, he said west of the Triangle is fine. WV is fine, even western VA is fine. Central NC, eastern VAā¦ not so much.
Unless they resupplied (quite possible by now, 3 days later), my guy was having trouble finding gas along I-81 in VA.
Iām in Chapel Hill and not seeing that. Gas station near me seems to be doing ok. They just have regular though. Pretty much every station I have driven by seems to have gas. I filled up my oldestās CMax on Saturday evening with no problem. We drive an EV so not looking for ourselves. There were huge lines at stations that had gas last week and lots of places didnāt have any. We drove straight up to the pump on Saturday with no issues. Station was busy but no lines.
Where are you?! I looked today while I was out (Fresh Market toward Meadowmont, Wegmans, MLK Dr, and Weaver Dairy areas) and didnāt see anything. Iām good for now but DH will need to fill up tonight.
We got some on Sat at the station on the corner of MLK and Hillsborough. I didnāt look today (wasnāt driving much) but the other day seemed like the BP on Main St in Carrboro opposite Honeysuckle Cafe had some too. When Iām out tomorrow Iāll make a note of where I see people filling up.
I went out just now and saw that the sti on on the corner of Estes and Franklin looks to have gas too
