I'm a senior in high school currently applying to a few different schools, planning to study civil engineering. One school, North Carolina State, says their essays are optional but may be reviewed for scholarship purposes. I was wondering if I didn't write these, would it affect my chances of admission, since it says it may only be reviewed for scholarship purposes? I definitely plan on doing at least one, but there are like five or six different ones, so that's why I ask. I want to write all three essays for my Virginia Tech application, so I want to know if I could not do as much on this NC State application. Anybody have an answer or opinions? Thanks!
