I’m just wondering what you’re suppose to write about for the appeal statement? Like why you should be at the school or what you did wrong? Would love an answer from the perspective of someone who got into NCSSM from their appeal statement!
Hey! I got rejected too :’( I’m also appealing. I believe that you state why you should be able to attend NCSSM. Like why they should reconsider you. I wrote a quick one. What do you think?
My single mother works over 45 hours a week. I myself work about 15 hours a week along-side on a large farm. Although I understand this is not an excuse to not show above average excellence in my academic career, I do want to present this activity as an “extracurricular activity” that takes a bit of usable time. Be aware that I am top of my class and have chosen very rigorous schedules, yet my school has limits. I am committed to do better than my past flaws with a desire for an opportunity to demonstrate that I am capable for the greater challenge. I accept I have not done well, yet I can improve with NCSSM.
If we get appealed to NCSSM, do we automatically get into the school, or do we get on the wait list (and only get in if someone declines)? This process wasn’t really explained well to me.
That’s what I am wondering.
@knilam @TheRadiologist My friend who currently is a junior at NCSSM said that if you’re a finalist for the appeal, then they just put you on the waitlist. And to get accepted to NCSSM from the waitlist, a girl/boy (sorry I don’t know which gender you are based on your username) with the same demographics in your district or CD as you would have to decline their acceptance. Hoped that helped
Thank you very much. Now I understand.
I have no clue what NCSSM is, but @cler1010 , I suggest you leave out the “I accept I have not done well” part because it makes you seem as if you admit that you didn’t work hard enough to prove that you are capable of handling their coursework.
