NCSSM Class of 2016- Future Applicants

Guys just wondering. I sent in my appeal for the Residential, but when you go back and log back in to UniApp, does it still show you as a non finalist and still shows you that you can appeal? Just wondering if it still displays the same thing. (Hoping my appeal was actually sent.

@NintendoFan2298 Same here, I think that’s what supposed to happen. Hopefully anyone else who sent an appeal got the same incident we did when we logged on?

@pinkrose452 I definitely think you should appeal for the residential program. Somehow, someone who can crack jokes like that MUST be accepted into the school. No questions ;))

I just hate how short the essay is. I had a 500 straight up word essay, then i realize it was 500 characters, so now my passion had to go into a measly paragraph.

@NintendoFan2298 The Injustice! >:P

All joking aside, I also had the same problem. I spent half an hour working on a great appeal, and lo and behold, I had to cut it to small mini essay that barely reflected the glory of my original D:

I think that getting non finalist is just a test of patience :)

Any daring people our there declining online finalist status to appeal for residential :stuck_out_tongue:

@TheAmericanGuru that right there shows tremendous guts and patience.

My daughter gave up her slot today, and she hopes that one of you will benefit. Don’t give up; follow this through to the end. Even if you get in on the last day, it will be worth it!

@NintendoFan2298 @trajenous It’s so nice to find other people that are appealing :slight_smile: And yeah, 500 characters is far from enough…I couldn’t decide what to say

@ISpy42‌ Did your daughter give up an online spot to appeal for residential?

To all who are appealing. I heard that over 400 or so people are appealing!

@galaxyunicorn I actually feel that 400 is not a lot compared to the 800+ applicants who get rejected from both programs.

However, that is a large amount of students asking for a second chance! So I wish all you “appealers” good luck !!!

@TheAmericanGuru‌ 400 people for just 40-100 spots.

No, she is choosing a different boarding school in the northeast.

@galaxyunicorn just curious. . . how are you finding all of this out???

Estimation

Anybody watching the NCAA Championship tonight?

@ISpy42 Is it the Bard College at Simon’s Rock? I was actually considering that over 'SSM but I didn’t wanna have to deal with becoming a transfer student instead of a first-year college admit…

No, @theamericanguru, but I know of that program. I think it is good, but perhaps stronger in humanities than in sciences.

Just a question for the people who are attending Welcome Day. What kind of placement tests are you guys taking? Also, if I’m in the middle of my chemistry course this semester, which science placement test do you guys think I would have to take? I absolutely despise placement tests. -__-
