@adambowker98 Oh, I decided to apply only for the residential program. I was going to apply for both until I saw the questions for the online, lol. Good luck~ Isn’t it due next week?

@loltired Optimization comes before Related Rates. I have no preference; I just hate word problems in general. Aww, I was hoping we wouldn’t have to take a math test.

EDIT: I just listed my achievements and extracurriculars. Did you guys write an essay, etc?

Wow, good guess. I use the same username for my email, twitter, instagram, etc but for CC it said something about not choosing your name sooo…

I was actually looking through CC one day out of sheer boredom and I stumbled upon someone who went to my school (I knew because of his username) who made a bunch of boards about NCSSM chances. It’s a shame he didn’t get in, but he’s in college now so it’s whatever, I guess.

Edit: Yeah, I listed all of that. I did write two paragraph things for the other things you enjoy doing, but that’s about it.

@pastelblue I’m planning on just listing everything. And loltired, what section asked what you enjoyed? Must’ve missed it…

Also, I figured I would apply to both do if I don’t go to residential, I can still benefit from some classes. Yeah it’s due the 15th but I’m almost done.

@loltired haha, I just looked at a map quick and yeah all sites say that but I don’t really mind people knowing my twitter etc. go follow me haha ;)

Really? That must’ve been interesting but awkward at the same time haha. Yeah, I guess once you’re in college it won’t matter too much that you didn’t get in.

@adambowker98 I think she’s talking about the section where it asks you about your other talents and hobbies. I only have one question left and it’s the about certain words describing yourself. I have no idea how to make it different from the unique question.

I’m kind of hoping there aren’t too many cocky students around NCSSM. I prefer smart, humble students, lol.

@adambowker98 That’s what I was thinking when I started reading the online questions! They are so redundant. Guess I wasn’t the only one that was having a hard time on the essay questions. I ended up answering most of them with 800 chars out of 1,500 chars. Loltired mentioned awhile back that someone told her that the essays do count but not much. Someone told me the same thing. So I guess don’t stress too much about it?

Yeah, I’m part of HOSA and during the state competition, a lot of the of the non-NCSSM HOSA members thought that the NCSSM students were cocky. If you don’t know what HOSA is, it’s a club where you compete in medical-related competitions.

@pastelblue. You asked in the other thread how difficult CD1 is, but I’ll answer here because it is more fitting. I’m not completely sure, but I think it was one of the easier ones.

A point I want to make is that you applicants should not worry about how hard your CD is. Make your application something you can be proud of whether your CD is comparably easy or hard and know that you put in all that you could.

Also @pastelblue. You mentioned that some other teams thought that NCSSM HOSA was cocky? I wasn’t there, but at NCSSM I have found a more genuine group of students than I can expect to find at any other high school and I doubt they were actually being cocky.

I acknowledge my flaws. I’m just overdosing on confidence. Probably because I just won a great fight two days ago…

But flaunting is bad. Proof is much better (although I can’t necessarily prove much online without compromising my secret identity). And who talks about previous personal achievements in daily conversation anyways?

@willsister1 Really? Do you mind telling me where you’re from? I live Durham and am part of CD 1 but my friend who also lives in Durham is part of CD 6. Durham’s separated in different districts from what I know.

@enderx1x That’s what I thought. Maybe the students just assumed that they were cocky.

Hey guys while scouring the web I found this thread might as well share my stats. From Johnston County which I think is in CD 7.

@Flaracos was it like a physical fight or…?

We had our first mock trial scrimmage today (against another team at my school, we have 4 teams total) and I have to say, it went pretty well! The team we went against was supposedly the best team (the one with all seniors) and it was nice making someone squirm with objections… ;)

Hi, I’m a CD3 Applicant. Does anyone know about what the SAT score is for this CD? And can anyone tell me if they compare you to your school’s average sophomore, or to your CD? The NCSSM admission’s councilor told me that they compare me to the school, while many other places I’ve read they compare you to the CD. Any information would be a HUGE help! thanks in advance!
