I was in NJHS and Board Game Club and I’m currently doing debate, TSA (technology student association) and Science Olympiad I’m doing an individual research project and I’m entering an essay contest I’ve been invited to a summer medical program at Johns Hopkins and the people to people organization I’ve done gymnastics for most of my life and currently do archery I also do a Novant health explorer program I was recognized for science achievement in 8th grade and I play the violin I’m taking photography classes as well and applying to multiple other boarding schools
I usually score around a 1350 on the practice SATs I take and there’s only 2 of us from my school applying I know I’m not that impressive but I believe I’m very well rounded and I can write really good essays.
I’m just wondering, why NCSSM? Looking at your classes, you’re very strong in theatre and spanish, two things you wouldn’t have to necessarily give up to go to NCSSM, but would still have less time for. Your science and math count is admirable, but you’re on the lower side of what I think they would accept.
I really want to get into the school I love the idea of living on my own and I want to be a pediatrician so I believe it would be very beneficial to my future and my current high school doesn’t fit my needs @pyschicphysics
I have some friends applying to NCSSM who are already taking AP Calc BC and AP Physics and Chem, I’d say that a good bunch of essays explaining your current situation and what you hope to accomplish with the resources that NCSSM has would be your best shot. Even if you don’t get in, it’s only two more years till college, when you can really live by yourself. It sounds like your zeal and extreme drive will bring you success wherever you go.
@psychicphysics I would be taking AP Psych but I’m in the Academy of Engineering and have required courses so I don’t have room in my schedule. I’m attending an open house on the 15th and hoping to make a good impression. I’m also gonna talk to my counselor about what more I can do so that will help hopefully.
Can anyone tell me my chances of getting in?

I take the new SAT on the 21st of January, but on pre SAT tests I’ve scored around a 1400 out of 1600.
Also, in case you wanted to know, I want to be an Electrical Engineer but my school doesn’t offer those kinds of courses.
Hi, everyone! My name is Jeremy Goldsby and I have applied for the Residential and Online programs for Science and Math. I really want to know what my chances are of getting in the school. I currently attend an Early College High School so I have some college classes completed. Also, I want to get to know some of you all because we may go to school together! I live in Duplin County which would be District 7.

BTW my school pretty much doesn’t offer any specialized classes for STEM, so take that into account. But that’s about it.
