People often appeal and get on the waitlist. I suspect it depends on how many accepted students reject their acceptance. Do it if you want it!
Accepted to residential! Congratulations to everyone who got in.
Anyone else who got in from Charlotte?
@nelsonm I think that’s probably the best thing for me to do, I’ll wait a couple days and see how I’m feeling @7tbones I hope I at least get that far
@kayjxx If you stick with the Online program, you’ll at least have one friend. Me!
With the first round of status today for residential what were the options? Was it just selected or not selected?
@nelsonm AWW : )
On Welcome Day, we should all meet each other! It’ll be so fun!

@skompella9892 I think your classes look very good so far and it certainly looks like you will have great SAT scores. From my understanding of how they rate applicants, be sure to have some EC’s/community involvement that are meaningful to you.
Also, keep in mind that by the time you apply the CDs could/will change. I am not sure where you are in CD9, but if you live close to South Charlotte and get included in with those schools, you could suddenly find yourself in an incredibly competitive situation. Good luck!!
My son will apply next year so we are trying to ensure he is competitive for our CD…
I got into residential too from Charlotte. What school do you go to?
Just found this discussion but anyone know any information about the waitlist?
Congratulations to everyone who got in this year! I know this forum is for 2020 but I really needed some advice concerning my chances. I am in CD 4 and these were my classes this year:
9th Grade Classes:
Spanish 2 honors
Chemistry honors
Biology honors
NC math 3 honors
Civics and Economics honors
Health and PE
Magnet Intro Computer Science honors
Speech 1 honors
I’m pretty solid with my ec’s, but I got a B in math and chem this year, which really sucks. In my defense, I don’t plan on pursuing chemistry in my future and had three different teachers for math this year, but I did get a 96 on the NCFE for math. Nevertheless, my final grade is an 89 for math and an 84 for chem. Do I have a chance at all with 2 b’s in stem subjects? I will be taking pre-calc over summer and 6 AP’s sophomore year(that I genuinely enjoy), which may help my GPA. I plan on taking the SAT this October.
Hey guys, I wanted to help people list their credentials so I made this template. I will also use this template to list my credentials (updated). Hope this helps!
