I go to cape fear community college, what makes you think I didn’t get my decision because of my college?
I mean College of Engineering or College of Science.
oh lmao, I applied into the school of engineering
i applied to education and still haven’t heard back
My anxiety is killing me lol.
did you not get a decision yet? what school ddi you apply to
Hey, everyone!
I had originally applied as an OOS first-year student to both UNC Chapel Hill and NCSU last year. I ended up being rejected from UNC and waitlisted at NC State + was not able to get off the waitlist. With COVID happening, the most logical plan for me was to pursue remote learning for the duration my freshman year. Naturally, this led me to enrolling at Wake Tech Community College as an out-of-state student.
Now, fast forward to today: I was accepted to NC State and waitlisted at UNC (big news for me bc my stats were far from great lmao) !!
STATS
Out-of-State
Accepted to NC State’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences
College GPA - 3.583
High School GPA - 3.6
(now do you understand why i was thrilled about being waitlisted at UNC?)
Anyway, I wanted to share my story and my stats on here because I know some people were let down today; and I was in that exact same position last year.
I won’t even lie, I straight up sobbed when I wasn’t accepted to either of my top schools. Choked on my cries and everything. I was definitely being overdramatic, but when something means so much to you, you can’t help but feel hurt when you didn’t receive the outcome you had hoped for for so long.
So, to those who weren’t thrilled about their outcome today, remember that the path to success is not, and will rarely ever be, linear. You are the only person who determines your path to success. Nothing else. Not a person. Not a professor. And certainly not a university. It’s all you. The only power you have is the ability to control how you react to the opportunities and setbacks that you endure.
If no one has said so already, I am proud of you and I know you will go on to accomplish all that it is which you have set your mind to. Dream big and shoot for the stars. Define your life for yourself and never let anyone or anything stop you from doing so.
I wish you all the best and I cannot wait to see the next generation of leaders that emerge in this world
