ND Merit Scholarships

Has anyone been able to find the application when they click on the SlideRoom link? I don’t see anything except something for architecture and art students uploading portfolios.

Is this for both RD and REA?

I believe it is for REA and RD. My DD was accepted REA but someone else on the thread posted that they were RD. Did any have a specific scholarship posted on their email? Any idea how many semifinalists are invited to apply?

On a previous thread from a couple of years ago, someone said they narrow the semifinalists down to 140 and those 140 are interviewed on campus for the 65 (or so) scholarships. I don’t know how many semifinalists there are. And this was a couple of years ago, so things may have changed with their process and the numbers.

Questions are posted to the link this morning…

Are you sure it’s posted? I am still only seeing stuff for architecture and art portfolio submission.

I’m also only seeing stuff for architecture/art.

@cj12345 I was also confused by the email so I sked for clarification from our designated AO. I got back what looks like a form reply that said in part:
Thank you for your email and your interest in the University of Notre Dame! We are currently reviewing applications for admission during Regular Decision. I am regularly checking emails, but please anticipate a delayed response due to the volume of applications needing review.
I’m not sure if I will get a personalized reply later. It seems counterintuitive to decide on merit scholarships for applicants who may not be accepted, but stranger things have been known to happen. This board is not as active as others so there isn’t a lot of past history to draw from, but I will post if I get more info.

Has anyone been able to figure out the SlideRoom situation for non-art/architecture majors?

We haven”t had any problems. Just clicked on the slide room link on the invitation letter and it took us directly to essay questions for scholarship. Maybe try calling the merit office for help?

@cj12345 I sent an email to our region’s designated AO that basically said: my son is excited but I don’t know if his excitement is premature because he hasn’t received formal notice of acceptance. The AO’s response, in part, said:

I can understand your uncertainty about the award, but rest assured that, if a student is being asked to complete the merit application process, we have recognized him as one of our very best in our applicant pool. Please proceed with confidence in the application for the merit award.

It does sound like an oblique way of saying that those who are considered for merit have been accepted. Am I wrong in this interpretation? How else can I interpret “proceed with confidence”? It would be really nice to get a straight answer, but maybe my natural tendency towards pessimism (ahem, realism), is affecting my interpretation.

My DD just did the test. She thought it was kind of fun but almost ran out of time. She had to quasi guess on the the last question before time ran out.

Did anyone else just get the merit email today? I didn’t expect to but also didn’t think they were rolling out in batches.

For those of you having issues with SlideRoom, have you taken the test yet? I haven’t taken it yet just because I haven’t had time and I still can’t get the SlideRoom to work. I thought maybe the people who were seeing it online had already taken the test.

@oPhilippos you received the merit email yesterday?

As far as the Slideroom problem, I realized the issue for me was with Safari. I am Mac-based and it doesn’t work on Safari. As soon as I tried it on Firefox it worked.

Do any of y’all know what format you’re doing the video in? I’m planning on just taking a video of me responding to the prompt for 3 minutes but that might be kinna goofy

if you got a merit scholarship you are 100% accepted to the university bar you do something that would have you application rescinded before when decisions come out (ie expelled, suspended)

Has anyone received an invite or information about Glynn Honors?

Highkey very nervous about this scholarship good luck y’all
