Hi all,
I would like to start one for the discussion about Indiana (Kelley) Bloomington and USC. What are your thoughts between these 2 programs for someone who aspires to get into finance as an undergraduate student - ranking, quality, career prospects, alumni network, wealther, internship, student life, chance to apply to the big MBA schools?
I really need your advice before I can make a decision, so please help me with it. Thanks in advance

PS: What do you think about IUB? And if you can please help me to compare Kelley with the other schools in top 10 such as UCB, NYU...

They are the same. One ranks 9th in one ranking, the other 11th. Another ranking has one school at 10th and the other 21st. Both are good schools that you shouldn't turn one or the other down for their "academics" fit is SO important. USC is in an urban area of LA. IU is in a college town in the middle of nowhere. They are completely different.

hey maybe i can give you some insight, im from california ( 30-40 minute drive from LA and yes ive seen the USC campus as well as have a cousin that wen there and is also there for grad. - pharmacy) USC Marshall and IU Kelley are very comparable and are well known in their respective regions. for LA definitely USC, for the chicago area maybe coming out of Kelley would be better than USC Marshall. all in all, its more about fit rather than quality and reputation of the bschool cuz both are on the same level. regarding other top undergrad. bschools, haas, stern, ross, mclintire are obviously a level or 2 higher than kelley. kelley is more similar to schools like tepper, marshall, unc-chapel hill etc. and of course as everyone wil tell you, wharton is on its own level/pedestal lol. are you from CA? wut part? what other schools are you going to apply to? i only applied to the UC's, cuz personally USC was not for me and didnt want to be boring and go to a school that someone in my family went to.

"Dude...SoCal kicks the pants off of Indiana;-)"

heh although thats the general consensus, again everyone has their own opinion on what environment/weather enjoy. im from the LA area and I actually like the environment here, i enjoy the natural setting as opposed to the urban setting I would be exposed to at LA. but obviously for business you want to be in a major city like LA, Chicago, NYC, San Fran. etc.
