Hi everyone! I was just accepted to ND, BC, and Villanova and could NOT be more excited. My mom went to ND and my dad is basically Rudy and ND has been my dream since I was little. However, I am from NY and BC and Villanova are a lot closer and super awesome too. Now I’m torn! Any advice on which school to choose?
First thing I would look at is cost. Also what your intended major is. All three are exceptional schools with solid alumni networks, you will get a good job coming from any of those.
All are about the same price so cost isn’t really a factor. At Notre Dame and Villanova I would be majoring in Neuroscience and Boston College I would do Biology maybe with a concentration in Neuroscience. I want to be a physicians assistant so the neuroscience isn’t necessary I just thought it was an interesting program.
Socially, ND provides 8 amazing saturdays per year. What they do the other 357 nights of the year is beyond me. Still, it’s an amazing school.
PA schools won’t really care. However, ND is viewed as a step up academically from BC or Villanova i…
Congrats!
I would eliminate BC if they don’t have your intended major.
You can’t go wrong with ND or Villanova, but my heart is with ND. My son applied and did not get in to ND (first choice, multiple legacy), but was accepted to Villanova.
Check out the research done at both schools in neuroscience and see if that persuades you.
Sounds to me like you got into your dream school and have your parent’s support to attend. I’d go for it! Yes, the distance is a hassle, but unless you have doubts about being comfortable that far from home, it can be managed If you would rather be closer to home (only you can answer this) then you still have two excellent options.
FWIW when my S went to ND for grad school he found it easier to fly in and out of O’Hare (instead of taking two flights to get to South Bend) and take the bus to ND – many more choices of direct flights for less money.
Thanks everyone! I’m pretty sure I’m going with ND I just Love it so much
First off, congratulations to you - you should be very proud of yourself. Three wonderful choices. I can’t comment on BC, but went to Villanova Undergrad (absolutely loved it) and Notre Dame for my MBA (also loved it). I grew up in NJ and still live in the Northeast. The Villanova alumni network is incredibly strong in NYC (and across the Northeast) and has an outstanding reputation (as do the others). The spirit of the “Nova Nation” is just remarkable - so much to be proud of with the recent business school ranking and growth of the campus (the school is just getting better and better each year). You probably have a great perspective on Notre Dame (incredible place), so won’t provide much comment there - if you are an East Coaster, Villanova is top-notch. Let you ‘gut’ guide you - whether 'Nova, ND or BC, you’ll be a tremendous success! Good luck and GO CATS!
Goals? Cost? ND is the best for business.
I’m glad Villanova alumni are proud of their school, but lets not exaggerate. U.S News has their business program at #45 tied with Temple (See https://poetsandquantsforundergrads.com/2017/09/11/wharton-tops-u-s-news-ranking-undergrad-business-schools/3/)
This is a duplicate post and it seems the OP has pretty much decided on ND
