Near-perfect test scores, but bad GPA?

So I’m not sure where I can get into with my stats. As said in the title, I have near perfect test scores (36 ACT, 1550 Redesigned SAT), but my GPA is solid at a cumulative 3.0 (3.2 weighted). Do I have a chance getting into decent schools, or does this just show colleges that I’m lazy and don’t try in school?

I think you just need to use the other parts of your app to explain how wonderful and worthy of admissions you are. There are many schools that will be happy to have you. Colleges realize not everyone is mature during HS. Will you get into Harvard probably not but you should apply to a wide range of schools and see what happens.

Apply to a bunch of places- a lower GPA is not a death sentence, but it means you do have to be realistic. There are plenty of colleges that will still want you at their school. However, keep this in mind- most colleges say that a high GPA offsets low test scores, but high test scores will not save a low GPA.
