Hi ,
I absolutely need 800 in Maths 2 C in Januaray . How should I go about preparing for it ? I do have an aptitude for Maths but cant work under pressure ( My time management sucks ! ) I have heard that the barrons book is harder than the actual test , so is it worth spending time on it ? Secondly, Usually whats the curve like ? And which graphic calculator do you reccommend.?

The curve is extremely generous. I think you can get around 8 wrong and still slip into the tail end of an 800.

Graphing calculator: If you have to purchase one, get the TI-89 and familiarize yourself with it! If not, I think any graphing calculator will do.

Preparation = practice, practice, practice. I don't personally recommend the Barron's book, although you might want to use it if you ABSOLUTELY need the 800. I got an 800 using Princeton Review, though, among some other books ... Kaplan, REA ...

I got a 800 using both the barron's and sparknotes.

I mainly concentrated on sparknotes. Even though they had a lot of mechanical errors, I thought the practice tests were pretty accurate. (sparknotes comes with a second book with extra practice tests) Every night for a week (prior to the test day) i took a practice test and tried to study my mistakes.

oh, this is so much bull$hit. you don't need anything more than a TI-83 to get an 800. get the barrons book and hit yourself on the head with it. or study from it. it's great and if you try hard, you'll get an 800. or maybe a 790.

You don't "need" an 800. You only want one. Or your parents. Or from peer pressure or whatever. We all 'want' good grades, good everything...we don't need them to survive. :)
