need a reseacher to advice on analysing survey

I don`t know whether it is appropriate under this forum or not, but no idea where else.

Anyway, I have done a survey and Im stuck with the conclusion part. Since we (our team) were just students, beginners,so it was our first time.
The general topic of the project is ‘how many students face problems in learning science?’ There are 50 questions total under 5 domains and survey takers had to fill in numbers from 1-5 (i.e,
1=strongly agree,2`=agree, …and so on) as responses to each questions.

So I hope an experienced reseacher will come across this post.

The problem is that, after following certain instructions which said to add all the numbers, and finding the average%,we got output of 65%. It says out of 100 , 65 students are facing problems in Science.

BUT, it turns out that data is not precise that way because it says 65 are having problem learning, whereas the rest of 35 students have no problem at all.

It is clearer with eg. as this: Suppose one qs says I do not face problem learning science and if every person out of 10 people enter 1(=strongly agree), that should say no one has problem but with the above method of finding average%, would give result of 20% out of 100 as having learning problem!

I truly appreciate any suggestions of good analysing method for this.
