Okay, I am a senior in high school and I only know a few things about myself:

So I really love creative writing but I also am considering a marketing major so I could work for a big company and use my creativity in that field. That is why at most schools I have applied for a business major with the intention of double-majoring in English (writing concentration).

Business works in my favor because my school doesn't offer creative writing classes, but a lot of business classes. As a result, I've been taken marketing management class and e-commerce/entrepreneurship classes. I was a part of a team that in my town that won a state-wide business competition that won a 2500$ internship, and I won an individual award in that as well. The business was my idea and I led the marketing team.

However, I'm terrible at math and creativity & writing/communication skills are the only parts of the business world that interest me in the first place.

I still love writing as an art from. I know Tisch writers are also great storytellers but I've never written a script in my life. I'm not sure if I'm totally interested in film/playwriting or if I want that to be my set career path. People have suggested that I become a marketing intern or work in book publishing so I can use both business and writing. So my questions are:

Are most DDW alumni writers in film/plays/TV? Or do some of them branch off into other areas where they can use other skills?

In the job market - how would a company view an applicant that has a BFA in Writing and only a minor in business in entertainment/media?

Basically how flexible can I be in the DDW? I consider Tisch to be very prestigious for film studies but how would the business world view it, especially the writing department?

As for my application - any tips for the writing portfolio?

Thanks in advance and sorry for being long-winded. My brain is cluttered with the whole college process so if anything is confusing please let me know.
