I've posted this question before but I've gotten zero responses. But I really need help, in a unique situation.
Basically I'm in my freshman year still and I went to SUNY Binghamton. While at Bing I got a really low GPA basically a 1.5, I then transferred to Baruch for Spring Semester of that year, So I am still a freshman. I'm on my way to getting a 4.0 and entering the honors college at Baruch. None of my credits carried over because I didn't get over C's. But I have a possibility of getting those grades dropped, a Withdrawal grade on my Binghamton transcript. I want to do this because I want to transfer again to a top 20 school. Should I do that or leave the terrible grades?

If you have the choice, isn’t it a no brainer? But how are you doing this?

Also, if the Bing grades are dropped at our current college, you still need to send transcripts from all colleges you attended when you apply for a transfer.

I had family issues back home and my academic advisor said if it was bad enough, then i could fill out some paperwork and they would decide if they would be replaced with a withdrawal grade. I was curious because i thought something would be better than nothing gpa wise. But on the other hand i would be able to talk about that in my essay. But some people said that transferring for the 2nd time woud seem flaky

Ws due to personal issues are definitely better than a 1.5 gpa, you can still address this in your essay. While your gpa may reset at a new school, for some situations (eg. med school) all of your grades are counted. And if you have to send your transcripts for some other reason, Ws will look better than sub-passing grades.
