Need advice on app

Where it says:

Beginning 9th grade, have you ever been judged responsible for academic or behavioral misconduct that led to your suspension or expulsion from any educational institution?

I was suspended in tenth grade for a chemistry accident that ended up with one of my girls hair being on fire. I'm not sure if they expunged it or not, but my school said that it wouldn't be shown on my record.

Here's my question, if i write NO and a suspension IS on my record do you think they will rescind my app? Most of my friends said not to worry about it, as they have been suspended for other things and just marked no and got away with it, but I'm not trying to spend the time/money if it's going to be like that.

Similarly, I don't want to mark yes, explain it all at the risk of sounding stupid, only for it to say no on my transcript. Unfortunately, I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to actually see the transcripts my counselors are sending out (huge mess up in my school), so I don't know what to do. Thoughts?

Go talk to you counselor asap. This is what counselors are for. If your counselor tells you it was expunged and it should not be on your transcript, get a letter in writing from your counselor with this information. If it ends up on the transcript anyway, you will have the letter from the counselor.

yea talk to your counselor, and if all else fails have fun writing an explanation, who knows maybe it'll end up helping you get in if its good enough.

Yea my problem is our administration is so terrible (its a pretty small underfunded school), that things like mixing up rankings from previous years (how does this happen for two years??), incorrect grades, and very little college help result in our poor services. This is why i'm so anxious about this, they are so unpredictable I could end up missing deadlines dealing with them. I think I'm just gonna go for the no and I mean the worst thing that will happen is that I wont get accepted.

The first deadline is for an application that is optional. If you really are worried, you can always just wait for the next (mandatory) one. I wish you good luck since I know I need it :)

Already handed it in this is on the second part

2nd part is not like due til january or so. Chill out, go talk to your counselor, i'm sure they won't take like 3 months.
