Hello all.

I was recently accepted to the University of Chicago for undergraduate studies (which as most of you know, does not have an engineering program.) I was wondering if this would handicap my chances at entering a great engineering graduate program after college (ie. Stanford, MIT, etc.) I'll most likely be pursuing a physics major and will probably dabble in some economics and biology courses. I was hoping some UChicago graduates could tell me how difficult it is to maintain a high GPA in that field. I have a passion for physics and would definitely work as hard as possible to get straight As to the best of my abilities.

Also, are there any suggestions as to how I could potentially take some core engineering courses/do research in the field/express my interest in it to bolster my chances? Does UChicago have any programs in particular that could help me with this predicament?

I also was accepted to the Carnegie Mellon electrical engineering department as well as UCLA, USC, and Emory. I'd really appreciate any advice on where to go to college/what programs to take and ultimately which will increase my chances the most. Thanks!
