PhD in EE

Hi all,

I recently finished up my GRE and am finally getting down to do apps and getting things done for grad school. I am looking at PhD and possibly some masters programs in Electrical Engineering. My gpa is a bit mediocre at 3.4 but I am in engineering physics in a top 10 engineering school. I have a couple years of research but no publishings and my GRE are 4.5/W590/Q790. Here are my choices:

U. Mich
U. Illinois
Georgia Tech
MIT
Stanford
Caltech
U.C. Berkeley
Cornell
U.T. Austin
Princeton

I think the top 3 to 5 are a bit of a long shot but I should have some good chances at others. What do you all think? Any comments are much appreciated.

You should talk to professors from your school to see what sorts of grad schools similar students have gotten into. If you're in a top 10 university for engineering physics I'm sure they get a good number of students every year that go off to grad school. They'll be able to give you a much better estimate of where you'll get in than we will.

Reaver is right. Talk to your advisor as he/she will know more.

Yea, will do. Thank you for your comments.
