need advice!

I'm a senior this year. I have a high GPA and relatively good SAT scores and would gladly do math and chemistry all day long. ;) However, when it comes to writing, the ADD I never knew I had seems to come out. As soon as I sit in front of my computer to write my brain immediately wanders off. I have a hard time organizing my thoughts in the first place but then trying to get them onto paper is a big struggle. It has caused me many unnecessarily long nights writing papers, which turn out only mediocre most of the time because I'm happy enough just to get enough words on the page.

Any advice concerning writing college essays or just writing in general would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
