I would like to transfer to an ivy league school but my GPA in high school was just a 3.1 and I had a 1130 on my SATs. I did participate in a lot in high school but I don't think that counts for much now. I graduated high school back in 2001 and now am attending a community college. I intend on working my butt off to get a 4.0 and will be working a part time job. What else do you suggest I do?

I've decided to take the ACT and see how I do..

what..did you do..for four years...?

I.......worked.

Perhaps I'm amused too easily, but I must applaud you disney on that beautiful response.

Edit: Now back to your original question...
It's definitely a good call to retake the ACT. Maybe you should also take the SAT. And besides working, it may help to be involved in the community in one way or another, given your "advanced" age, though you should only put that effort in if you'd really enjoy it. If you work your ass off like it sounds like you will, you should have a very decent shot at some of the alternative students programs such as Columbia's school of General Studies. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice :)

I didn't volunteer while I worked but now that I'm back in school, I am going to be participating in student groups like I did in high school and do some volunteer work. Should I include the ECs from high school in my app?

Do you think a college might be interested in someone who is older (I'm not ancient, just 22) because they may be more mature and career focused? (Although I'm not mature at all! haha)

I might as well write down all my info
