need advices...UCLA applied math or Berkeley?

Hard to choose....
I want to go to LA since I'm in Bay Area now and my boyfriend will go there.
Applied math in UCLA is no.2, just behand NYU.
But I don't know the ranking is only for graduate or including undergraduate.
And honestly Berkeley is more prestigious.
Many of my classmates will go to Berkeley...
But I heard that courses in Berk are so hard to get good grade. need to work really hard...
The good thing is I can declare any major in college of L&S after the first semester.

These are some thoughts I have now...a little messy...

Is anyone have any advice? Or is here any current students in UCLA or Berkeley can talk about the classes or life after transfer? Thanks a lot!!!!!!!

you really shouldn’t look at those rankings because the difference in your education will be negligible at the undergraduate level. Also, most of the time they’re done by people who don’t know the difference between algebra and analysis. Either department will give you a world class education in math. Also, the math classes at berkeley are only hard if you don’t work.

I’m graduating with honors from both the math and economics department at Berkeley and i don’t think the classes are that difficult at the undergraduate level.
