Need advise about schedules

I'm a transfer, I just got everything together, paid my enrollment fee and registered for orientation. (I know, I'm ALOT late, it was a whole issue on my end) So my orientation is August 22, three days before class starts.
My situation is:
I work Mondays, Fridays
I've been looking around Testudo, (like I know everybody else who is as excited as I am have been doing) Are most of the classes just MWF? or am I just missing something?
I've enjoyed my Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday schedule the past semester :(

How is orientation?
Do I need to bring anything? other than immunization forms.

Another question:
I live in Maryland, I'm considered a dependent; Parents live and work in DC
Can I TRY to get instate tuition?
or override dependency? (I don't have a special circumstance, other than my parents don't really support me at all)

Thank you for reading all this
Thank you for ALL the people who help us on here, I've been snooping around for the past few months and many people here actually convinced me that UMD is where I belong. Now I'm EXCITED!!

THANK YOU

Lol, you might just have the luck of the draw in only looking up classes that happen to be MWF…there most def are some TTh, some single day/evening classes, etc…if you are lucky, you can plan your schedule to have a specific day off or maybe finish by a certain time. However, it does happen that occasionally you don’t have much choice and get stuck with a less than ideal schedule simply because the classes you need/want to take are offered only at certain times. Sign up for the classes you need and let work know you need to make some adjustment in your availability due to classes. Hopefully, they will understand and work with you.

For orientation, in addition to immunization forms, bring a smile because you will get your student ID photo taken…for freshman, the math placement exam is mandatory (take online prior to orientation) but depending on what you’ve taken, as a transfer student you may or may not need to do that…sorry, not as familiar with transfer process…

Welcome to Terp Nation!

Thank you @maryversity!

Let me explain to you the wonderful thing called Venus! It’s a tool available to UMD students that looks up your classes and creates every single possible schedule for you. You can even edit it to exclude certain days of the week, avoid classes with too big of a waitlist, and choose classes before or after a certain time in the day. Check it out:
