Does anyone know if Bucknell University is need-blind when considering who to admit? Their site states that they are NOT need-blind to international students, but they never explicitly stated that they were need-blind to domestic students either.
Most selective private schools have need-blind admissions-- not to be confused with guarantees to meet full need.
Actually Bucknell is on a list of schools that meet full need: http://www.thecollegesolution.com/list-of-colleges-that-meet-100-of-financial-need/
@lostaccount I think that site may be inaccurate. Bucknell meets like 91% or 94%, but not full-need. That’s for sure. And the site also lists Wheaton College as full-need when I used its NPC and found out I had to pay like $20,000 out of pocket. Just a heads up, but thank you both.
First of all - I don’t think Bucknell is need blind
Need Blind means that they dont factor in how much / if you can pay for college.
If they factor in your expected contribution as part of acceptance then they are not need blind. Also when you list parents address occupation etc they have a general idea of your potential contribution.
full need has nothing to do with this concept
Bucknell claims to be need blind in admissions for US students and to meet 95% of need.
