Need Blind Vs Need Aware

im interested in trying for vassar early decision. now they say that they are not need blind.

does that mean a student with excellent credentials will be admitted but not given financial aid OR a student with okay credentials will be admitted who doesnt need fin aid in the first place.. i guess my main question is, if you need financial aid, will you just not get it but be accepted or rejected right out?

Ehh, this is the transfer board - no such thing as ED for transfers, do you mean spring admission?

ehh sorry i meant im trying for transfer decisions..

need aware does not imply a lowering of admissions standards in favor of people who don't need aid - it means that when judging two students who both have 'excellent credentials,' the one which does not demonstrate financial aid will be preferred over the one which does. i don't like this need aware business at all - i'd rather they accept people regularly and not give aid - then atleast i could attend the school and search for other means of financial aid like outside scholarships, etc.

i agree.

thanks, btw
